I've been reading lots of AB threads here on bhw promoting how useful and good they are, but I have noticed that all the threads I've been reading are from 2008-2009 (some are 2010, but still that's nearly 2 years ago). Has anybody had any recent success on autoblogs? Are they still even alive nowadays?

More importantly, what's changed since 2008/2009/2010, what more have we to do now then back then? And are they worth the time and effort we put into them? Thanks in advanced.

I'm pretty new to the autoblog scene so I can't say what has changed.

What I can say is that setting up an autoblog in an hour and then watching it make $20+ each month for the rest of your life with no further work from you is not realistic. You have to twist the method somehow, either with link building to category pages (see here), focusing the whole autoblog on a microniche or a myriad of other methods. You have to work to make money.

I've set up two autoblogs within the past 6 weeks and both have made enough to cover hosting fees so I see that as a good sign but they are not my money makers. I would say autoblogs are NOT dead, they are just dead for the lazy and unimaginative.

What services do you think are currently working? i'm thinking about setting up a blog with a link pyramid-style setup, backliking pages, internal links to keep juice flowing, etc. You think that'd be successful, given a low competition keyword? Or is this not original enough?

Yeah, that's original enough. If you build enough external links to it like you would any other site it WILL rank.

Yeah, the trick is not doing 100% autoblogs.. as far as i know.. because then there will be inconsistencies. If you put some time into making sure everything is working well, you'll be good to go.

They could work but it requires a lot of time to set up ABs, and if you use adsense maybe you account be closed.

I read somewhere, a guy is selling autoblos at $1.90 or 0.90 I do not remember and you can get 100 autoblogs ready, I mean ready.

You save time but invest money, I thik that would be a some way to get money from autoblogs.

The Farmer and Panda updates kicked autoblogs pretty hard. They can still make money but you need to work a bit and make them decent. I haven't built any new ones this year. But my year old blogs still make money every day. It's not a cash cow, but it pays expenses while I work on new sites and projects.
