I work with Wells Fargo as a Banker and yes you are right. $5000 or more will get on a hard hold even if you deposit cash. It is required for every Financial Institution to hold it and report it to the Federal Bank first. Its not just with the bank its with the Federal Government and Anti-Money Laundering Council already here in the US. I believe same goes in the UKToo much cash. Almost impossible to launder that amount. And I believe if you are making large purchases with cash only the Government will come knocking eventually. You give a Ferrari dealer 500k in cash, they try and deposit, bank is required to see where they got the money, they tell them it was you, now you're getting investigated.
So those guys make that much but really end up sitting on it.
But don't you think that the cartels already thought of it? Ofcourse they will distribute like 500k worth of coccaine per city and the such and only get cash per agent they had. They will loose 100m for some bust but they will still take 400m right? Maybe something more underground and sufficient but you get the idea
