Last year, I heard about a token nobody cared about. Some laughed. Some ignored it. A few took a small chance… and it exploded.
It made me wonder: how many opportunities do we miss just by waiting?
If you had one shot at a token like this today, what would you do — hold, trade, or spread your bets?
Let’s hear your story or strategy.

I wouldn't touch an unknown token without knowing an insider or been an insider
New coins can't be trusted
Rugs pulls still happening every week

I completely understand your caution, and it's wise to be careful with new and unknown tokens. Rug pulls are indeed still a significant risk, and having insider information can certainly provide an edge. However, I've also seen cases where a token's potential was overlooked due to lack of hype, and those who took a calculated risk were rewarded. What strategies do you use to vet new tokens and assess their potential for growth, and at what point do you consider taking a chance on an unknown token?

Any token we don't know about carries a risk of being a scam, so I think we should ignore them and not pay attention to them.

it’s pretty much like playing the lottery, some win but 99,99% lose. In my opinion it’s a much safer strategy to just keep DCAing in a couple promising projects rather than following hyped launches.

With every unknown coin we see explode don't forget there are thousand of unknown coins that turn into a rug pull . So is like winning at lottery in average you will lose money when you invest blind in a project or chase the fast projects with no fundament or use.

In my case, I remember when BTC was barely new and didn't even secured bitcoin, I regret that.

It depends on who is launching the token and what is the mission of the team. Usually most tokens are scams but if you see a good company getting the whitepaper go through then and only then you should invest. Keep in mind not to put money in the token you can't afford to loose.

I espacially would like to talk about this point. I have a bad feeling reading it. I think a lot of people are feeling the same. There were so much opportunities lost by waiting. It has to be lesson and now be aware on what can happened on markets like oil going crazy due to the war.

Honestly I’d probably split the risk, take a small early position and let part of it ride long term while actively taking profits on the way up, because most hype tokens pump fast but don’t reward pure holding forever. The real game isn’t catching one moonshot, it’s managing risk so one win actually changes your portfolio instead of disappearing in the next cycle.

For new coins i believe it goes like high risk / high reward.
Since most of them have low Mcap, they can easily explode if they get hype / attention.
But on the other hand its too risky to invest big on those coins since there are many chances it can be a rugpull / scam project or just building around hype and no real utilities.

There are countless of that coins so few can skyrocket but overall the 99% of them get to fail, atleast you can hop in early and get out early with some profit if you manage the timing

The alternate question really, is how many did we ape into and lost...
