Do your traffic and sales diminish during the summer (when generally people are supposed to stay less hours in front of a PC)?

It really depends, some products do but other products excel during the summer, the likes of the weight loss niche that does better in the summer and in January, the perfect time for people to think about losing weight :)

Outdoor niches of mine seem to take off hardcore during the summer while things about mundane boring things, tend to be on the back burner.

In general summer is slow for most businesses.. however like others mentioned, some niches this is their time. For example a contractor friend of mine, his business is taking off right now. Weight loss seems to do better in the summer months. Also if you're in the wedding niche, people tend to start getting married around the spring.

Cheers,

I actually see increased traffic in many niches during the summer. I'd say it goes both way; yes people are outside more, but when they're not outside, they're spending more time inside on their computers.

I see about a 10%-15% increase in the peak months of the summer and of winter. Whether or not it has anything to do with the weather, I don't know, but it has been happening for two years, so I'd hope to say that "The Summer Effect" is not true.

That's why you should choose an evergreen niche or involve multiple niches. Diversification.

20-30% low traffic for my sires from june to september unfortunately :(

I have seen increase in traffic on one of my micro niche site related to gaming.

As already mentioned some niches will do good like weigthloss, I myself am doing pretty good promoting travel agencies and flighttickets.

Yes. It depends a lot on the different niches. But I think it can depend on the traffic sources as well.
What about Facebook as a source of traffic, for instance? Does its power diminish during the summer?

Ok, good news. The summer effect, as many other problems, cannot affect people that diversify their niches and their traffic sources
