I put together a thread a while ago about generating lead sources and automatically monitoring them. While I have tweaked and improved the method over time, the concept remains the same. However, I never really touched on things like which facebook groups one might find good leads in.
So, I thought I'd share a fun little method you can use to find such groups. It involves a bit of stalking, but who hasn't done that before?
We're going to start by Googling a broad keyword in your niche. Let's use "software development" as our example. You can then proceed to page 5 - 10 of Google. Why? Because we are looking for companies who don't have great SEO. If their SEO sucks, they must be advertising in other ways, right?
Now I could just end the thread here and tell you to sell them some crappy SEO services. That's not what we're going to do.
Instead, we're going to open a bunch of these websites and look through the "About" page, the "Contact" page and the "Meet the team" page, in an effort to get the name/details of their most important staff members. This method works a lot better if there's only one or two people in the company, because it means they're doing everything themselves, marketing included.
Once you have their names, you'll want to try find them on Facebook. If they have a really common name like "John Smith", you might want to try their email address or phone number. 8 times out of 10, one of these will have a profile linked to them.
Final steps: Open that profile and navigate to the groups they subscribe to "More > Groups". Go through the most relevant/busy looking groups, and join a bunch of them. You now have some great sources with which to acquire relevant leads from.
PS: This won't work with every single business or business owner, but a lot of "online orientated" companies have some sort of Facebook marketing strategy, and this method will work well for those.
For interests sake, my original thread is located here, should you wish to automate the scanning process of these leads: https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/conors-guide-to-generating-leads-online.838904/
