    Hello,

My name is Stephan Fant. Me and my partner got an idea to create a niche social network. A web site and an iOS application.

In the past few months we managed to prepare a functional specification of the project. The budget plan is drawn. The initial funding is secured.

Although we don't have much experience. We hired a software consultant to help us with all technical specifics.

Unfortunately the software company we initially we agreed to work it, bailed out. We're now looking for a company to build it.

    Yet few questions emerged:

    • Where to look for software companies. Outsourcing is Ok.
    • What to look for? How to distinguish a quality company from an average one?

So far, we found no success on Freelancer.com and the likes. They're probably more suited for smaller-scale projects. We need a proper team, with proper work-flow. Source control, testing, QA, etc.

Is there any network or directory dedicated for such purposes? Can you please give me your thoughts?

    Thanks in advance!

So here it's an opinion from a freelancer.

    - Where to look for software companies. Outsourcing is Ok.
Everywhere. Programming companies are everywhere. Anyway, the best way it's to request feedback from business friends, with what development companies are working your friends?

But you're using the wrong platform. Don't use freelancer, it's the worst website ever for freelancing. I have a good experience with elance, maybe try to post a job there?

    - What to look for? How to distinguish a quality company from an average one?
Hire another programmer for the hiring process. If you're not a programmer it's not a chance to distinguish the quality of companies.
Request the github account of the company, say that you want to view the website code not themes purchased from themeforest.

Look around the forums, their are lots of programmers that can build you a iOS app and website if your budget is good.

Everything you need is right here on this forum just need to look a little

P.S Watch out for the scammers, I would only work with reputable members

    HI,

Its always good to hire company rather then freeelancer where you can get NDA, SLA and and contract sign. also they have credit in market.. reviews on portals so it will spoils his reputation so they would be worry.

Talk to their reference if they can provide.

We have huge team of mobile and web developers.

Lets skype if you are interested. we can give our client reference to whom you can talk personally

Thanks for all responses, but from what I understand there is nothing close to a freelancer site for whole teams...

This is a shame as I thought It might be extremely useful to be able to hire a nice, proven, long term team :(.

    Best regards

I'd suggest check out some top profiles on elance, some on the top providers there are actual company that might be able to handle your project.
