I have heard about a method based on:
Create (and upload) 5 good videos: do them yourself or pay for them to starving third world people
Upload one every day for a week. Use free VidIQ or similar to optimize title, thumbnail, description, tags,...
Due to you have zero subs your views are going to be low at the beginning
Now the secret weapon: make the channel sleep for one or two months. Do nothing: no uploads, no push through other channels (unless magically the videos appear as suggested), and also no entering in the channel or studio page
The gurus say that in that time YouTube is going to promote at least one of the videos as incentive to make you go back to the platform
Advantages of the sleeping method after the month:
- you have a lot of info about your audience in analytics
- you know which video worked better and you have to "replicate"
- less stress and frustration of the first day when everytime you enter to your channel see 1 new sub and 10 views
- after the month, you will have a base of subs that YouTube is going to show your new videos
- after a month, YouTube knows the profile of people that are no subs but they could be interested in your new videos
Disadvantages:
- no everybody is ready to resist a month without checking his new channel
