Have you guys tried gay or transvestite traffic with this? I think it will be much more likely to convert to payed sign ups as these people will be much more desperate.
 
One thing that I've seen addressed, but only lightly was the return address to be used when sending out these ecards. I will be doing this (actually, my partner will be since she can get to sites I can't while I'm out to sea) - but I think that using a return email address that is blatently false (ie. [email protected] ) is important to use. Think about it - if you give them an email that looks legit, they will often reply back rather then join the offer and ask "Hey, how about we just talk via email... come-on, send me your pics here... yada, yada, yada"... BUT, if there is absolutely NO way that this mark... err... person can contact his 'secret admirer' other than joining this free or low cost offer, then... "wow, I just gotta take that chance that this is legit... what if this chick's for real and I pass this up? There's no way to tell without giving it a try".

Basic 'Risk vs Reward'... ;)

I have tried 123 greetings. I think their emails lands in the spam folder, at least when I tested it with myself as recipient.
 
Things might have changed in the last few months. But I bet there are still many out there just like them. You can use this secret admirer method with a mailer too, so instead of sending it through ecard sites you can send it via mailers.

Sorry your add was flagged, I guess some one didn't like it. Could you post the add you used here as it was on craigslist? It would be nice to see.

Why don't you just go to CL and look for the ads that have stayed on there for a few hours and then just rewrite them.

Just tried this, put a little twist on it more of a "need a stress reliever" type of post.. not sure how to monetize this tho..

66 clicks and only 1 conversion.. the offer was for a dating site tho.. im guessing dating sites don't convert that well or what?! maybe im not saying the right stuff..

has anyone posted what they have been saying to these people to get them to convert?

right around $6...50 clicks and only 1 action doesn't seem to good to me.. only made 10 bucks today between this and an email submit.. not doing something right .. this is my first time ever doing AM tho..
 
You shouldn't be discouraged. Try to work on your 'sales copy' and tweak your campaign but first you should test it for a couple of more days and with a lot more traffic. Keep it up.

wow.. this really does work.. did a complete spin off of this idea... I've only been doing it for about 2 hours now, but im up to over $50 for the day...

just gotta find a good offer!
 
Blinger, you've got a start - now test one change at a time. Run your test through about 1000 replies and note how you did... then tweak your ad copy, OR try a different offer (not both at the same time - you want to know what is improving or worsening your results).

Got a question for those that are using or used an ecard that allowed full HTML. When you put in your link to passion.com (or whatever), along with your affiliate id, wouldn't the referral lead the AM right back to your ecard? How do you explain that to him/her?

not to double post, but as far as the secret admirer thing goes.. I don't want to share my post - but i've gotten well over 100 emails in just a few hours.. this is off of 2 ads in 2 different cities


ONLY PROBLEM IM GETTING NOW IS THAT MY CONVERSIONS ARE TOOOOO HIGH.. HOW DO I GET THEM LOWER? My EPC is like $3.00, when the EPC for the actual campaign is $0.12

you can use something like tinyurl and double meta refresh landing page.
 
woah, up to $75 now for the night.. just need to figure out how to get more clicks but less action ... seems like my conversions will be too damn high specially since this is my first campaign i've ever run
 
Yes if it is clickable you will have to blank your referrer.

What is your CR?

In case it is WAY too high, you can always sprinkle some junk traffic on it.

don't mind the n00bness but how do i find my conversion rate? I've just been looking at the amount of Clicks and the amount of Actions which is about a 1/5 ratio right now.. My EPC is over $2, the campaign itself is under 30 cents.. how does EPC correlate with the actual CR?

My question for the night is, how do i 'sprinkle' junk traffic on it? All i've been doing is emailing people from craigslist the link to the offer.
I'm guessing the junk traffic would come from an autoblog of mine of some sort, or what?

I'll have 100 posts by next week with all the questions i'll have over the next few days :-p
 
1/5=0.2x100=20% conversion rate. That is a high conversion rate but at the same time nothing to worry about. Just make sure you blank your referrer and you can always say that you are doing PPC or some other sort of promotion to drive traffic if anyone ever asks you anything.
