The right Anchor Text profile?

How much should I worry about BL anchor text profile to not get penalized?

I am building backlinks mainly with niche edits and guest posts. In most cases I use partial match or LSI keyword phrase as an anchor, to different posts. Can I just keep doing that without the risk of getting a penalty?

I've only been using branded or random anchors and now during this update I have competitors whose backlink profile is 70% exact match outranking me.

Does anchor profile of Do_follow and Nofollow count together? In other words, can I use exact/partial match anchors on Do_follow links and generic/branded on Nofollow links?

Yes, it counts.

LSI are fine. If you are overdoing it with partial match anchors, you will get slapped, or rather, you will have hard time ranking. 90% of your anchors should be brand + url. Depends on the niche, but I presume you are not in gambling.

People saying to leave your exact and partial match for "power" links should get back to reality from 2013.

Is it safe to use a totally random unrelated word/phrase as an anchor if I can't use brand + url? The thing is that when I get niche edits it's not possible to add a generic/brand/naked URL type of link.
