The Reputation system has been removed

No one is infallible. Everyone can get scammed. That 's not an argument for not taking personal responsibility, not doing your due diligence and not using your brain. And it certainly isn't an argument for relying on a third-party metric.

I totally agree.

Kimi getting banned while he was trying to refund people,

I personally handled that SL, so I 'm in a very good position of knowing all the details. Maybe you should ask yourself how good a friend of yours Kimi is since he didn't bother letting you know.

He definitely didn't get banned for having a different opinion over some staff member.

Not only that, I have seen SO much removed from the forums by a mod for no good reason.

No good reason? Really? How would you know? Do you think you have access to the same amount of information staff members have?

Nice move, it seemed like there was a lot of high rep postwhores ending up in the shitlist section lately and the users who were out cash pointing to their "trustworthy rep" as an excuse for letting their guard down.

The iTrader score is actually underused, bought a lot of stuff here and sold them too and I'm sure that others have done this as well... But still only have a few iTraders....

Too be honest, I believe reputation helped..for most people reputation and Itrader was a way of seeing if they're trustworthy or not.

Those thinking that Rep was a Positive thing Belongs to Rep Circles ?
How can you say that ?
I never heard about any Rep circle until i saw this thread and if there was any Rep circle and mods knew about it then those involved should be banned

LOL at all the people bitching about it being removed, clear to see who the butthurt rep circle fags are!

Jokes aside, information is power. While the rep, thanks or itrader systems won't give you the measure of a person individually, they will together give you at least some indication as to a person's previous behaviour on the forum.

I'm betting 99.9% of us on here have never met, so no one really knows each other of course, but if I am going to hand over some cash to someone I've never met for example, the more ways of knowing how they have behaved in the past here, the better.

James :)

Charles Floate getting banned with the bigbuddy problem, Kimi getting banned while he was trying to refund people,
Roparadise??

Any thread related to SEO Envy..... that rings a bell.

I will add to the list, r.s.mahanti got banned by wiz on some dispute with BTB. though he had very strong case against BTB, he did not even get a chance to show the proofs.

Thanks...so much!

I got neg repped by a guy and a swarm of his friends. Reason? I told him to stop posting moronic threads. LOL. He instantly neg repped me along with his "rep friends". Now it is removed, I'm so fucking glad.

Been a while, BHW. Beeeen a while :beerchug:

Agree but now those same people will be looking at post count and thanks as a metric to work out somebodies value.

Rep has gone, why not get rid of thanks and post count too?

These also do not show trustworthiness or a members true contribution to the forum.

By getting rid of rep and admitting that it was a flawed system but keeping thanks and post count mean that they must hold some arbitrary value.

If we acknowledge that Rep had become nonsense aren't we also acknowledging that the thanks, post count and iTrader feature are also nonsense?

RushingWinds been very quite lately, not his usual 40 posts per day. Hope the poor guy hasn't killed himself or something after the recent news

Lol, was thinking the same,he disapeared when bigbuddy posted the truth about rep circles

i'm sure he wants to remove post count as well

I am not here to argue. I am merely voicing my opinion. I am not a friend of Kimis and I really do not care if you handled the shit list or not, the point remains that MANY members of this forum have gone unpaid because all contact he had with them has been cut off after he was banned. That is why I used it as an example.

What I meant by no good reason is this. I have seen many members burn THOUSANDS of dollars on different services. When that service gets burned to the ground, the reviews stay in the forum so that people do not follow that path. That is the way it should be. However, a week or two ago someone with an authority site getting 80k visitors a day was burned down and he posted about it after using that service. That thread did not last the night.

Anyway, that is my two cents.

It's all useless when you think about it.. Even money. "Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither"

Why not just look back through a members previous post and see if they
actually know what they are talking about before considering to do
business with them.
All BST's are reviewed so at least you know the service or product does what's
advertised.
But rep or not that would never stop anyone running away with your money if
that was their intention.
