Hi everyone, I have a question, I put an affiliate link https://affiliatelink.com/xx/ to an LP page of an https site, for example https://lp.com/xx/, when the affiliate link is opened by a visitor, the advertiser can see the original referr as https ://lp.com/xx/ or just the root domain https://lp.com? Does the advertiser have the ability to see the specific page https://lp.com/xx/? Thanks.

it depends on 2 things:

- how powerful the tracking service / program / script that the advertiser (or you, depending on who has access to that script) uses is, and what data it logs (most tracking services on the market today log more information than you know what to do with, so in this regard everything should be good)

- whether or not you (or whoever places the affiliate link on pages) cloak and / or redirect the URL. I'm not very knowledgeable on how cloaking and redirections work and how they happen, but I know for sure that one of these 2 is responsible for the full or partial displaying of the links.

So, if you don't cloak and you don't use redirections, whoever clicks on the affiliate link will be able to see 100% the entire URL (including the affiliate code). If cloaking and / or redirections are used... well, it depends on how well the affiliate links are cloaked or redirected I guess :)

Thank you for your help, you are very professional to solve my question, but I still have a question. ;)

If I use meta refresh to hide the traffic referrer of affliate link, and the redirect link is http://www.xxx.com/xx/, will the advertiser see the referrer is Blank or http://www.xxx.com/xx/ or http://www.xxx.com it?

I see many posts that meta refresh is emptying the traffic referrer, but I can see the referrer is http://www.xxx.com instead of Blank when I use https://whatsmyreferer.com/ to test, very strange.

Sorry my English is not very good. :|

no idea what meta refresh is (technology is not my strong point), so I can't help further I'm afraid. But maybe someone else can chime in...

Your english is good, don't worry :)

Thank you, I will make a separate post to ask questions about meta refresh.
