Completely agree, I tried to explain that I don't use the same size fits all approach on every domain. They are clever for sure, it's their job and they are - without a doubt - good at it. I just wanted to point out a few ideas. If you are using really high quality domains for a PBN, you don't need 100 domains to rank for competitive terms, so more time to build each PBN site like others probably build their money sites. There is nothing wrong with the quick & dirty purely ROI based approach, works fine, too, but it's definitly possible to build PBNs that stand even manual reviews.
For strong domains lets say I pay 500$ for, I sometimes just apply the wayback if it is good. If not, they usually get a good amount of effort to reduce the chance of a manual review penalty. But again. when I have strong domains that i'm paying XXX$ for, I could maybe only rank 1 or two sites without it looks suspicious. With the other route above, 100 domains could rank 5-10 sites.
