or the number of visitors who click on ads ?
and can i change from one to another whenever i want ?You decide how you want to be paid. You can choose CPM which pays per 1000 views, or CPC which pays per click
Whatever you want
Yeah, Adsense switches to whichever ads they think will "pay you more".I told you wrong, had it backwards. Only the advertiser chooses how they pay (CPM or CPC). You get paid depending on which ads google decides to show on your site. It's usually CPC but it's up to them
Sorry for misinformation. I think you used to be able to choose and I just assumed I was set to CPC because most ads are displayed that way. I just checked and I guess it's just whatever they decide to display
(My income is mostly from affiliate sales so I never payed close attention)
CPM stands for "cost per 1000 impressions." Advertisers running CPM ads set their desired price per 1000 ads served and pay each time their ad appears.
As a publisher, you'll earn revenue each time a CPM ad is served to your page and viewed by a user. CPM ads compete against cost per click (CPC) ads in our ad auction, and we'll display whichever ad is expected to earn more revenue for you.
