The power of PBNs

Hey guys so I wanted to discuss something with you. Have you noticed that more and more PBNs nowadays have no impact on ranking? As if some filters were applied to the PBNs (that way google could find out they are used purely for ranking and therefore deprived any link juice)

I did a test more than 3 months ago and bought 20 expired domains. All of them around 40RD and TF 15-20. No bad history + high quality links. Basically these were 100% legit sites. I posted some content, got them indexed and waited for over a month before linking out.

I picked up some random articles on authority sites which were ranking with an easy keyword on position 30-40 and had no backlinks pointing to them. Then I used this keyword as an anchor and linked out from my PBNs just to monitor their impact.

After 2 months, despite the fact the PBNs are really legit, over 60% of ranking sites did not move at all. This simply leads me to a conclusion that some expired domains are either deprived link juice or google put some filters on those expired domains because they can find out they are being used as PBNs.

What is your opinion guys? Why do you think it happens that way?

I am hitting a non-English market so I doubt you are familiar with any of those, however pretty legit - in the top 10 in my country
 
- did you test the power of the PBN site before you put in effort of creating content and setting up the site?

- just buying expired domains .. while it works.. may not be the best strategy

I did not put too much effort creating content. The idea behind it was to post some content, link out and monitor the effects in order to find out whether this PBN will have any positive/negative/neutral effect.

What do you mean by not the best strategy?
 
buying expired domains may not the best way to built up your PBN
I've seen a guy buys fresh domains and build his PBN from that

he's doing extremely well at the moment, no google penalty at all.
so after all, I think PBN is still working, you just need to know how to build a good PBN

did u diverse ur hosting ? IPs?
and also did u manage to have them all in different footprint access?
wordpress theme too?

Guys it was a test to see if they have any ranking impact. Each PBN was linking out to a different domain. I picked up super easy KW that an inner page was ranking for on page 3-5 and tried to rank it using exact match KW.

There is nothing to talk about footprints here.

So, 1 link and you expected what? Come back when you have 10 links to the same domain and see if it does anything.

I mean, 1 link was used obviously ALL PBNs are useless, let's all scrap them!
Send me all your PBN domains so I can properly dispose of them. No pushing, please form an orderly line, this will hurt just a little bit.
I'll keep them registered, so no one else suffers the same fate.

I am selfless like this.

Do you understand the idea behind picking up a super easy ranking on page 3-5 and using exact anchor text from a decent PBN? Like I said around 40% PBNs gave a positive effect. Please see a screenshot how it looks like.

A jump from position 17 to position 6/7

I monitored this KW in ahrefs before linking out to it and it was on position around 20 for the previous 5 months. So it was obviously an impact coming from my PBN link.

And like I said all of the testing KWs are pretty similar (all easy) and all of my PBNs are the same strong. Some just work, others no matter what don't
 
As a rule of thumb, PBN sites themselves need to gain inbound links and rank for some keywords.
Only then can they provide juice to linking partners.

Buy some link packages for you PBN and make a new test after that. I am sure you will see a significant improvement.
 
Whar you are doing is what everyone does...buy a pbn, host it an link right away....(guy there are no footprints...)

Nowdays you shoul link to a social propertie linking back to your website:

Pbn --> facebook page --> website

Just use a direct link towards your website 30-40 days after the post in the PBN is indexed.

So you are telling us that you build T2 links to a nofollow properties and you are crushing the SERPs?

Doesn't matter, this is to build the trust of your website, so if CNN wants to give you a live you won't accept it because it is nofollow ?

A lot of guys in this forum doesn't even build trust before sending PBN links towards their website, I want at least 1 link from Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Youtube etc... I don't care if those links are nofollow I'm no using them to rank only to build trust.
