I have made some further changes today as far as internal linking is concerned, based on the above.

I have looked at the top-ranking pages on my site, according to ahrefs, then I have filtered 10 pages from that list, that are targeting products in my niche. With those 10 pages, I have looked for the most relevant keywords, that my homepage is ranking somewhere in the top 50 results for. Using those keywords I have linked from the product pages to the homepage with a mixture of exact, partial and broad match anchors. The idea being that these links should be super-relevant because the content is focused exclusively on the keywords that I am using as anchor text.

I will check back on the results in 7 days and 14 days to see if there are any improvements.

Internal links have HUGE INFLUENCE On your search engine rankings. Importance you place on pages and which pages are seen as 'indexes' to more content change everything about the flow of Google's rankings

In the interests of transparency, here are the ranking updates. There are a few good movements, but lots of negative movements, unfortunately. However, I believe some of this may be the result of recent updates because I noticed a few keywords on my site have fallen without any changes being made.
