The place of a contextual backlink in an article

Hello,

Speaking of guest blogging, does it matter where the backlink is? Should it be in the first sentence of the article, first paragraph, mid-content, bottom etc?

I know that bio links are not as valuable but how about the actual place of the contextual backlink?

I'd appreciate any answer.

I'll say it this way: The higher up a link is in the HTML text of a page’s content, the more value that link will provide.

Google values the first backlinks more than they value the last ones.
