enjoying cigarettes for around 7-8 years, tried vaping for around a year and now im healthy without smoke or vapor :D in my lung

tried quitting, smoking 2 times a day now while sitting in the toilet and shitting.

I don't smoke. One of my close friends does. He has been smoking since two decades.

When I last spoke to him( couple of months back), he said he had quit smoking since last six months.

But...what he said next was alarming.... He still feels the same urge as day 1 of quitting. So, he thinks that sooner or later he will surrender to the
dying urge.

Makes me wonder... even 6 months of being cigarette-sober doesn't help with the urge?

I worked 80h a week this whole summer and was going out for a cigarette with the co-workers to take a small break.

Before that I wasn't a smoker, but now I'm afraid that it might stick with me even after the season is over.

I'm 20, never smoked before in my life.

It's always ON & OFF for me.
Due to stress & anxiety, I don't stick to it.

The best thing one can do is quit smoking & start walking to improve your health.

Really great to see all the others who have quit! Going to check-in to this thread occasionally to keep myself accountable

Another vote for the Allen Carr book book, honestly thought I'd never give up after 10 years+ smoking but that book worked for me. Doesn't work for everyone but if it 'clicks' with you it makes giving up pretty easy. Now 14 years since I smoked. Get the mental side right and the cravings/temptations don't seem that big. Good luck it's definitely worth it !!!

smoking since I was 14. quit for 4 months and then started smoking again. trying to quit again but even if i don't buy one any other person would offer and then i lose my $hit.

Just ordered a copy of the book everyone keeps recommending!

Another day smoke free! (just realized if you hyphenate smoke.free it censors it? something something big tobacco)

Well done!

“Eight hours after putting out a cigarette, you are 97% nicotine-free. After just three days of not smoking, you are 100% nicotine-free.”

Bought a Joytech AIO a couple of days ago and didn’t feel any urge to buy a pack of sigs. At the moment I’m using 6 ml tobacco flavor and looking to cut down to zero in about a month time.

I quit 6 months ago. Have not even had one puff since. I do however vape now. It was VERY hard at first and this was my second go around quitting. The first time I'd made it about six months and go figure was cleaning out my vehicle and found a perfectly preserved cigarette sitting in the glove box... I thought of it as a sign and that I'd done so well, what's the harm in just having one... Big mistake!

You must never touch those god forsaken things again. After that one cigarette, I though just one pack after all that super stale cigarette burned so fast that it was very much a tease.

What's the harm in just one pack? Was back to a full fledged smoker for the next year until I gave it another honest shot.

My advice get a vaporizer, you'll likely hate the thing at first and wonder why it is nothing like a cigarette, but after a couple of weeks the initial nicotine is out of your system and the vaporizer for me replaced the habit of puffing on something.

Worked for me and the point is to never touch another one. If you have to stay away from alcohol until you can trust yourself not to smoke when drinking, by all means do so. I had to.

I'm a smoker and don't want to quit but if you do, here are the 2 EASIEST ways ever:

1. Search for an auriculotherapy clinic near you, 90% success rate, I have a friend who's having a clinic like this, it basically nulls your withdrawal symptoms.

2. Allen Carr's book, search for audio version on youtube, smoke your last ciggs while listening.

I smoke a couple cigarettes a week, menthol
I can't smoke in a daytime (vampire) and I love to smoke when it's raining
Was checking my lungs about a month ago - clean!

I guess if you do a little it won't be bad (too bad), same with sweets, coca-cola etc.
If you doing too much then its unhealthy and no matter what you're doing

I was on and off and on and off and on and off and on and off and on and off and on and off and on and off and on and off and on and off and on.
Now off. Running helps.

Another day without a grit! I've found cardio has been helping a lot too.
