the news are rigged?

Why is it that when someone dies and it makes it to the news (for example, a school shooting)
They always ask the neighbors what the victim was like, and the neighbors will always say the same thing: "she was a nice person. She always tried to help if you needed help."
How come nobody ever says "she was not a nice person. I went to borrow eggs once and she was a bitcch to me"
I am starting to think all these "testimonials" are fake, the channel tells them what to say.

Could be, people don't want to look bad on TV so they only say positive things.
What if it's true though? What if psychos & killers put on a show when it comes to their neighbors?

There are probably a few people that say as it is whatever it may be. In a case as you describe it, "negative" comment would be counterproductive to the general direction.

The shooter (s) are bad, so the victims must have been nice.

So those will never make it to the screen.
