The new Mega. Ultimate Aesthetical Website?

I'm thinking of making the site I am having developed look very much like Mega.

That site is very pleasing and aesthetic to my eye.

inb4 SEO troubles. I am working on some ways to make SEO on the site better as its not effective yet, however, should I make my site look more like Mega or more like standard simplicity such as Twitter/FB/Google?

I think Mega blows all of them out of the water tbh.

Mega is a beautiful site no doubt. Imagine if thats how FB looked like...

All Im asking, should I make a site in between the aesthetics of Twitter/Mega, or literally make it as beautiful as Mega?

I'm pretty sure the lounge is for comments like his. If you wanted nothing but analysis of the pros and cons without the banter you'd probably be better off in Web Design.

That being said, if you plan on using SEO as your primary source of traffic you probably would be better off with a more content rich layout. If you're driving traffic through PPC/FB/Twitter/Instagram/Whatever then the mega.co.nz design would probably be best though as it's sleek and simple.

I will not be driving traffic from social media sites (well it wont be the main way).

Just pure SEO and some other tactics I know of + PPC.

Actually all Im asking is if a website that looks like Mega is a good idea?

That site is beautiful, however, my site will have some social networking qualities to it as well.... was wondering if a layout like that could potentially be bad if it has a section for users, adding friends, messages, etc.

i recommend simplicity like google and fb..
 
mega is nothing special, just fancy ui.
Sometimes it fails when you try to upload something the site will stuck on 0% uploading.
 
Mega certainly doesn't look bad, but it's not what I would call amazing, either. Looking at companies like Twitter/Google/FB/etc for webdesign is a pretty small pond with a lot of really ugly fish. Mega itself is clean but extremely generic.

If you're looking at a site redesign, you need to pick a design that suits your content and goals for the site, not vice versa. Form follows function.
