The new danger in getting your guest posts done

After the last AI update, so many sites are down that I think many of them did their content with artificial intelligence, whichever software it was isn't even important, and probably the webmasters didn't even know about it.

I am talking about sites that sell links, and guest posts mainly.

The people who reach out to them are probably cutting corners and sending AI-generated posts. I am sure that any site that offers links has dealt with this issue.

This makes it easier for me to weed out all the sites that got a massive hit and avoid them, but how do you deal with writers who write your guest posts and make sure that the text is genuinely fully and manually written?

I know many writers on BHW are using AI to do their posts, I have caught a couple when they claim that the text is 100% manual.

This can jeopardize the entire outreach operation, as I see that there are now prompts being sold here on how to make your text more human-readable with ChatGPT.

I'm honestly more worried about the 5th May update. That update was supposed to sniff out any websites hosting '3rd party content'. Guest posts falls in this category.

I believe there's gonna be hell and chaos when that day comes.

You're right on this one... Recently, I went through some websites for guest posts / niche edits and practically all of them are losing traffic gradually.
Supposedly, google will do some dodgy stuff again on 5 May 2024.
 
There are many human-written content websites that got hit by Google's update.

That's not the point I was making and I am sure there are many legit sites that got hit.

I am specifically talking about AI-written content and the implications it has when a seller doesn't disclose the fact that part of the content is done by an AI.
 
People are just lazy, they will feed the ai content without any check directly to their site and cry later if they got hit.

I would be worried only for english websites....for the rest of the world G can't really fine tune their algos.

It's not that clear-cut and oftentimes hard to spot, especially if you are not a native speaker.
 
It would be always a good idea to restrict the number & quality of guest posts to share in certain geniune website,
AI content is not a problem in its own, the problem is that many accept a ton of irrelevant posts, linking to many websites which most of them are trash,
They're basically dilluting the overall purpose, niche relevance & quality of the website turning it out into a link farm overtime,

A good rule of thumb is to accept & sell links to only whose willing to offer helpful articles for the websites, or simply add the articles/links yourself,
and to link out to a limited websites that are actually clean & geniune ones, not just any randomly created one,

You can surely rise the price by this, state that you're offering a geniune quality links with limited spots/OBL & decent content & linking out only to decent websites,
That will assure to buyers that you're offering something of quality & cut off all the resellers with cheap prices,

A mere example of this would be instead of accepting 100 posts, random short less optimized content for $30 each,
accept only 20 with decent, well detailed, user & niche focused content articles for $100-$150 each,
you'll be earning less for the short term, but you'll be getting more authority, keeping the website clean & running for a longer run

The most viable way I see is using AI article detection tools. Asides that, there's hardly anything one can do. Unless you pay the webmasters to also write the content. And assume they too don't use AI writing tools.

The detection tools haven't kept up with the constant development of AIs... Most of them are useless, but I agree with that webmaster's part.
 
I have a site that is about 60 pages of content. I hate writing content so it’s all just straight from ChatGPT 3.5 and it’s gone up in the last month. I’m not saying you are wrong but I do think there are many factors at play at once. Like high OBL counts and low engagement could be something google looks at when knocking these websites down.

I haven't claimed that AI is the sole reason why any site gets hit.

I am saying that content written by AI plays a factor when a seller spews it out with a machine. It's as easy as that.

If Trustpilot can detect AI content pretty easily then Google can detect it too.

I am experiencing this on 100% manually written blogs.
 
I also had a website using completely AI generated content and i was in 12th position for a lot of keywords , it has now been totally de-indexed completely. May the 5th is probably also going to kill a ton more websites.
 
You are right. Most of the guest post content is completely or partially written with AI.

The consequence, the sites get hacked by Google.

In most cases, we focus on link and anchors, not the contents when considering guest post.

Most of the webmaster took the opportunity to sell thousands of guest post, irrespective of human contents.

The closest option to determine AI generated content is by using originality ai.

Although it's not 100% accurate but ai generated content has never passed this test from my personal experience.

The only drawback here is it does also at times detect human written content as ai generated.

Just add a clause to your writer that it must pass originality ai and you will be able to filter out most ai generated content.

Since I have been into automated content generation for almost a decade I can say if your content is good as per latest SEO standards it doesn't get penalized.
