The Most Dreaded Time for my Posts, Google or Medium

Hello guys and experts.

Today I wanna just ask because it seems this is kind of the new update or something.

I've got 3 amazing posts on my blog. Since it was a new blog, I republished them on Medium for traction.

As it is, all the 3 are on first page on Google via Medium Blog.

Now, the thing is, if I search the same keyword to see if the same posts are ranked, even till the 10th page, I can't find my personal Blog posts on the 3 topics but it's the same content on the Medium Blog.

Is Google now treating curated content on Medium as Duplicate?

To justify if they're now penalizing the same posts on Medium, last week, one of the #3 posts was ranked 3 while the Medium version disappeared.

And now the Medium version is ranking, my blog version is no where to be found.


Can anyone relate to this? Thanks in anticipation for an answer.

It will take time to rank - original will be treated as the unique content

It's not unusual for syndicated content to rank higher than the source article. Medium's just got a lot more trust and authority than you have.

And, assuming you used medium's reposting feature, there should be a proper canonical link on medium meaning you won't have problems with Google thinking it's duplicate content.
