I have recently emailed Montelms.com about stating a charity event on myspace to raise money for the cause. While i'm in florida this is all i will be doing ,Now would it be against the law to keep a percentage of the money submitted?

Because i do plan on keeping atleast $300 a Week Just so i can live.

Usually no. Some people believe that you can keep up to 40% of anything, but, that is not so. If you can show that the $300.00 covers reasonable expenses it shouldn't be a problem, but, the law could also look at this as something you should be doing voluntarily and say you should keep a single penny.

The laws on this, like starting an non profit org are very strict, with too many people trying to run scams. It may be a can of worms you do not want to open. Gray bars, small rooms, a few hours per day out in the yard, the though makes one shudder.

Just call the foundation and ask. And definitely get something in writing.

Alright Thanks Guys!
