What have you guys found is the easiest way to get ranked for long tail keywords that have no competition?

Do you setup a blogger, do a squidoo, article, etc - what's been working for you, I'd like to know?

Thanks.

Primary target for the log tail are:
1. good optimization page (keywords, title, etc)
2. good inside linking page
3. Linking...

For me, no competition means that there is no commercial viability. I like at least 20,000 to 50,000 pages to compete against (as long as there are no "big guns" in the SERPs). Then I go out and kill them in the organic results with Web 2.0 SEO tactics.

Yes. Big Authority Sites. Not Web 2.0 sites, but sites like CNN for example.

also make sure that there are no sites in the top 5 with PR 5+ otherwise it will be tough to dominate them!

Remember that to take a keyword into the long tail you could start off with a competitive keyword and then add keyword modifiers to them. Example Sony TV. Could be taken into the long tail by adding: Buy Sony Tv model xxx. And then build web 2.0 properties around these long tail keywords

hope that helps
