I'm a business owner using FL for my clients and I've seen lots of people having a good freak out over the whole Instagram thing at the moment.
So I thought I'd take a minute to just put a few concepts out there.
Firstly, remember - if Instagram TRULY wanted to block all automation, why wouldn't they just do like YouTube and hard limit number of follows per day? It's unlikely a user would follow more than 100 people a day... so why not do this? Seems pretty simple. And obvious.
The truth is they WANT engagement. They want lots of activity and following and commenting and liking. Additionally, if one of your accounts follows someone running an add on their platform, it makes them look good. People will attribute that to their advert.
However, if they did nothing, then it would result in a mediocre user experience (if you were getting 500 random follows a day it would be as annoying as f#ck) - so they need to find a middle ground.
Now, of my 150~ clients, only about 30 were impacted by this at all. And all of these were at higher than recommended levels of engagement (I told clients not to do it but they kept pushing me and ask - so they knew the risks).
The rest of them on a good, moderate level of following/unfollowing seemingly weren't impacted at all.
I didn't even get this 'log in loop' everyones talking about - just the 'action blocked' when FL tried to follow people. (weirdly enough, unfollows for me have not been blocked at all - perhaps cause it's non-spammy to unfollow people?).
This indicates to me that they're trying to lower the levels of 'spam-like' behaviour.
Secondly, remember there are people who make big level money relying on this stuff. With enough money and will, anything can be accomplished, and you can bet they have people working around the clock to try and figure out the go. So if you have zero coding knowledge, just relax - someone will have a solution soon.
Also finally, I've started hearing from people that there is now a solution - with GMT2 up and running again etc - perhaps it's my cautious nature, but unless they've done something brilliant (in which case hopefully FL will follow soon!), I would play it real safe for now - it's possibly been turned off by Insta on purpose so they can now fine tune, or it's a honeypot.
