i used to get some decent traffic by using chat hashtags like kik, kikme, snapchat ect...i havent used this for a whole now but now i'm getting this message when using those hashtags,

isn't it working anymore?

It's because people post naked pics and such with those hashtags(and others). So instagram no longer has live feed for some hashtags, you only see top posts. So if you can get into top posts, you will gain insane followers.

was good while it lasted i guess, used to get around 400 ads on kik, is there anyway around it?

The image say it all.
These hashtags are automatically treated that way by Instagram. People overused or used these hashtags the wrong way. You can add variant to rank for the same niche. These hashtags are banned.

Too much use and reporting as explicit content has gotten these banned/flagged.

Also "#watch" had the same issue, after few weeks all fixed.

Is to prevent low quality posts I believe, take for example "#rolex". A lot of Chinese sellers are publishing replicas so that hashtag is plenty of shit. Probably they will allow only top posts, that in a certain way, the assure the quality...that's my opinion!

On Twitter they do the same thing but not as explicit. They simply "ghost" the hashtag and it's not seen anymore when you use it.

This was like a blast on twitter few months ago. I know some guys who earned a lot of money from this hashtag method with targeted traffic

I think these are just seasonal measures. But you can always mix them with other words.

i thought hashtags = top posts.
what's the point of talking about hashtag if it does not make it to the top posts? recent post is not going to last long if its a hot hashtag.

according to my observation, high follower count contributes to 90% of the top posts.
