Just came back from the cinema. I thought it was the funniest out of all the Hangovers. Zack (Alan) was hilarious, if he wasnt in it, the movie would be nothing.
Anybody else see it? What was your favourite scene(s)?
It's because you're an adult. I find maaany funny parts, but in the end it isn't a funny-funny movie. I don't think it was trying to be, I think it's just marketed as being party-time.
Stu isn't meant to be funny. He's only funny when he's being abused or when he's having a legitimate outburst, and we think he's silly when he's overbearing. Those feelings are conditioned and peer pressure. We laugh at his abuse because he doesn't deserve it and we're desensitized. We think he's silly when he's careful because we are guilty of not being on top of our own life. And everyone knocks him for being a dentist, though he kind of deserves it because he pretends to be more than what he is, because he feels inadequate due to his jealousy of the ability the others have to be so free.
Alan is like Buster from Arrested Development. Well, shit. Doug is like Michael. Phil is like GOB. Stu is like Tobias. ...And holy shit, Doug's father-in-law was played by the same dude who plays George Sr(Jeff Tambor).....Holy shit..... lazy.
Hangover is a comedy. The thing about comedies is you don't always have to be laughing and may be feeling opposite emotions. The great thing about comedy is that something that wasn't funny before might be funny the next time as life is experienced more.
