    The Google Psych-Out!

Ok... sharing some history I was reluctant to share last month because I didn't know enough to share... which despite my fans' comments is usually the case.

    The experiment:

(First, note that this is the 2nd time I've done this. The first time Google asked me to stop because my dynamic system was sending too many requests their way... They did not however... ban or punish me for doing autogen content)

I'm describing my 2nd version today.

I used AdWords API to gather 300k keywords using exact match for my top online retail keywords. Then very very very slowly I collect top 100 results for each one... Took 3 months to collect... I strongly recommend using proxies and "no footprint in the logs" timelines... Continuing... I had about 300K pages by keyword of the top 100 websites for each according to google.

Each page linked out to the top sites in "do follow" fashion.

On each page was javascript. The javascript displayed ads in a similar fashion as other ad services including AdWords... The JS ads were all nofollow.

It ran for 5 weeks and started producing large volumes of traffic. All of a sudden it got sandboxed. I took it offline and pointed the domain to a google IP.

this is where google psyched me out

I got sandboxed for building backlinks too fast! LOL! I didn't even know I was building backlinks!

1 month later. The page fell out of the SERPs but all the third party domain tracking sites continue to report on it and state that the domain (still pointing at google's IP) has GROWN in value to an estimated $8000!

I did a query to see how many organic links this thing accrued!!!
    Almost 300,000 backlinks

In 5 weeks! ... people found the vast volumes of content and linked to it in forums and autoblogs organically... things like: "this page mentioned something about elecric socks" OR "a page over here said blah about used tubas"... etc.

This domain is going to come out of the sandbox at PR7 in about 8 months.

Don't say I never shared a good secret... I'm blowing this one wide open... It's not my fault the new google sucks and this is the way it works now. ;)

Experience... I have 15 sites ranging from PR6 to PR8 and it is way bigger than my PR6 sites and nearly equal to my PR8, but I'm assuming less quality, but since it is all honest organic backlinks that the quality won't be terrible. Bigger than 6 and less than 8.

    That's how I know. ;)

I'm a little confused as to your content production system. I understand you scrapped the top 100 sites for each keyword, but it sounds like you just use that to like to those sites so bring some authority to your site.

So, how did you auto generate the content?

I ask because I am developing a very similar system and auto content is the missing piece of the puzzle.

    Thanks

    Payton

sounds like you just generated 1 really massive autoblog.

so 300k keywords, with 100 results for each keyword, over 3 months, comes out to around 232 results per minute?

what did your pages look like? i'm guessing you just had summaries of the top 100 search results, with some ads thrown in?

Even if it didn't think of the Pump and Dump opportunity for inflating domains in under 2 months... telling people to check a dozen domain traffic tracking sources for estimated value and to google the domain to see how many places link to it.

Some screenshots for the skeptics... scrubbed though

Dont reply saying its google I already told you I pointed the domain at google.

    Look at the traffic graphs...

Except that I knew from my first run that the most optimal content for 300,000 keywords would be the top 100 results for 300,000 searches... not just an autoblog... very targeted and very relevant to searches at least according to Google. ;)

You have to parse url, link text, and summary exactly which can be tricky if you want to get them all... not a novice parsing task.

I took the top 100 search results... put them in random order. Inserted empty span blocks at random places between the summary words... etc...

    Unique enough was my goal.

300,000 keywords? What was the bill for the Adwords API?

Correct... used my own HTML footprint and only used URL, title, and summary text. Random order on page with random <span></span> through out the summary texts to help insure uniqueness.

I use my HTML not google's... that's what I mean by my own HTML footprint.

Correct... the summary below each link in googles SERPs is usually the meta description text from each website or up to 250 characters surrounding the keywords from the text on the page.

Example of random spanning for uniqueness

<span>Correct... the summary</span> below each link in <span>googles SERPs is usually the meta description</span> text from <span>each website or up to 250</span> characters surrounding the keywords<span></span> from the text on the page.

So this is essentially a massive directory of automatically generated content with ads running on it?

    That's fucking awesome.

Black hats off to you! I totally understand what you done, although a bit too complicated for me to do myself. Ive seen a few of your SEO threads and comments and you're definitely owning big G on this one.

Well done and hope you get out the sandbox soon!

I deleted my PROOF screen shots... a few Gurus were getting pretty close to home! I like sharing, but I like my privacy too! ;) Nothing but love, though!

Big Props to mymomatemyhomework who was first to point out that the stats could be used to identify the domain! Damn smart!

Big Props to Djingel who was first to PM my experiment's domain name to me!

But at least there are a few others who can vouch for my post's authenticity.

    Cheers!

I didnt understand how ur site got backlinks! I understand that you have built a different page for each keyword that contains links(Do follow) to the top 100 results (from google) with a special footprint for each link.

And what is your bottom line? Are you trying to say that Linking to relevant website with do follow style helps in improving SERBS aLOT?
