the future of SEO

We all need to adapt or die. Methods that worked 6 months ago don't work anymore.

My newest thing? Making quality videos and posting them to many video sites and then post my links in the descriptions.

Also it might help to promote your site on AOL and Yahoo answers since those always seem to rank well...

I thing google is smart enough, so at least the low budget can't adapt. Smart software in the hands of few may be a winning option. Good software in the hands of many may last but only until G installs his drones.

I think google will just keep adapting and we will just keep fighting back..

I honestly don`t see why they have no begun to totally discount blog comments as links.. if you were Google wouildn`t you? I`m glad they have not.. just saying.

Also.. I think the real boost to SEO will come when IPV6 completely rolls out worldwide. Without the pipeline through an ipv4 thing they do now. The biggest problem expense wise we all have is finding proxies to do shit with.. whether its Cl or SB or Xrumer that aren`t banned already or don`t get banned too quickly.

If we could use IPV6.. its a much better ball game no?

I think the real problem here is that little guys aren't likely to survive more & more. Same authority sites consume most of the traffic & the way things go they will consume pretty much all the traffic that is worth anything. Google as SE will have to rethink their rankings at some point, because ranking the same 20 sites on top 20 is going to affect Google's effectiveness & usefulness. I think the most likely scenario is Google implementing social media in their algorithm with more & more authority & devaluing most of the other types of links. This will probably also mean that nof0llow may be dropped or at least ignored for certain sites.

It is already happening, websites with money are investing in SEO and getting results.

In the future it will be like johnny mnemonic on the Internet. All you will have to do is virtually catch your customers in the dark alley way and pick pocket their wallet. Your best bet is to go watch pick pocketing videos on youtube.

Lol, this made my day, and can be implemented if you think deeper.

Your future prophecy is flawed.
if there is an unbreakable captcha for automatons then people will just use decaptcher or deathbycaptcha to break it.
Google always adapts.

There is one thing that is certain in the future. SEO companies will take over the search engine business. They will come from china or some part of the earth that is not wealthy at all. They will have 1000 people creating articles and spamming forums all day. These people get paid 1 dollar a day.

This is already happening.. a provider I have now is in Bulgaria and he has a staff of people working part time shifts making link wheels and doing xrumer blasts etc.

Asking about the future of SEO is like asking about the future of Marketing.

Traditional marketing has changed so much, adapting to new routes of delivery, appealing to an increasingly sophisticated audience, finding new way to get the message noticed and selling product, even if the product is rubbish - just look at Justin Bieber, how the hell did that talentless git get so popular in such a congested market?

SEO, like Google, will and must adapt. As SEO techniques become more sophisticated, so too will Google. As Google continues to find ways to identify Black Hat techniques, so the Black Hat community will do stuff differently.

And then, just possibly, while Google is focused on doing all that, another SE will launch that takes a new approach (the modern day equivalent of Google coming up with PR) and the rules will all change overnight - Google will be too big to react quickly (like what happened to Microsoft) and the new upstart SE will become the one to use, gain traction and spawn a whole new generation of Black Hat tools.

The future of SEO? Constant, changing and increasingly sophisticated. Oh, and of course much more focused on Social Media and Local Search.

All of course just IMHO!

The big search engines like Google are making SEO very important for making money online. The ease of use and healthy competition among SEO companies are one of the factors making SEO more affordable.

I dont think there would be a "google killer" SE but maybe Facebook would hurt their market share. Google is a big company and they will just monopolize and eat up smaller SE startups with fresh ideas. They are good at recognizing fresh ideas. after all they DID try to buy Facebook.

A question for the big IM players out there - for how much longer do you believe micro-niche SEO will be profitable?

I realize I've come into the field of IM at a bit of a crunch point with the recent google updates, just wondering whether focusing all my energy on creating a bunch of micro-niches is going to be worth it for me in the end?

Your views?

I think there will always be a natural evolutionary arms race between google/whoever and the IMers so long as the internet is around and there is money to be made.

If G pulls one over on the Imers the 'selection pressure' to get money is high such that it won't take long for ppl to come along with a trump in the IM field. So on and so forth.

G is going for quality as Matt cutts pointed out.Therfore the battle now is making your websites informatible, less affiliate links going out, more pointing to authority site [you can link to mine :D]- focus on quality that's the best advice I can give ya all.
