The Five Key Elements to a Legitimate Website

Found this video and I totally agree with it

Maybe its just me but i never in my life clicked or even considered looking for terms/about us or privacy page of a website im reading espesially when it comes to simple articles,videos and images are good but only if the subject requires it most of the time i scroll past the image to read the article unless the picture is specificly related to the content. I think people these days are focusing way too much on details like this instead of the actual factor that makes a site legimate and that factor is CONTENT if its good the rest will come naturally.

Agreed with his ideas... but isn't this common sense.

Legit sites look like legit sites.

Who doesn't know that having a clean site layout, professional images, and a logo helps your branding?

You may not look at those factors, but search engines do.

The video says "These techniques or elements help to show your visitors that your site is legimate" and this is what my comment was based and not from a SEO standpoint... plus are you sure that having a nice logo is actually a factor that search engines take into considration?

For website owners it doesn't hurt to implement those key elements to exude a professional and trusted look and feel. This is especially true if you are selling a product or service. Fly by night companies abound so customers / consumers are more anxious than ever before.

Oh, I didn't watch the video, but from reading what people have written, I knew what was in the video before it was made.

It's not what you want, it's the consumer|review board.

Yes. Having a nice logo will help put you through manual review when your site ranks high enough, as will a privacy policy, tos, phone number, contact email, sitemap, etc.

Take a look at all the sites with excellent content that aren't ranking.

Rank #1 for a good keyword some time, you'll see what I'm talking about. Or look at what sites are ranking #1 behind the big-box retailers.
