thats why the latest changes on the serps

For websites that want to be found with the Web's most popular search engine, the company lays out some very specific guidelines. But color outside the lines, and you might find that your prime page-one search ranking has slipped to the barely-visible back pages on Google.
Considering how many people Google their way to information and services, it's no surprise that some companies and organizations are tempted to manipulate the system. Securing a ranking on the first few pages of a Google search is like setting up a storefront on Main Street; surfacing on a later page is like languishing in a back alley.
For good reason, Google takes its search rankings seriously. When companies don't follow the rules, it isn't long before they suffer the consequences.
"If a site has been penalized, it may no longer show up in results on Google.com or on any of Google's partner sites," Google says on a page of Webmaster guidelines.

Google Punishes Sites for 'Black-Hat Tactics'

In a recent search engine showdown, Google buried several J.C. Penney links in its search rankings after learning that the company was accused of employing so-called "black-hat tactics" to get a leg up online.
To dominate rankings for search terms like "black dress," "bedding," "area rugs" and other consumer searches, J.C. Penney allegedly paid to have thousands of links added to hundreds of websites across the Web, according to the New York Times. Some of the sites featuring J.C. Penney links were nuclear.engineeringaddict.com, casino-focus.com and other sites that had little to do with Penny's business, the Times reported.
The additional links to J.C. Penney pages boosted the retailer's presence on the Internet because Google's algorithms consider a site more search-worthy if it looks more popular online. But paying for links is a big Google no-no.
Google did not immediately respond to requests for comment from ABCNews.com. But after learning of J.C. Penney's search scheme from the New York Times, Google confirmed that the tactics violated its guidelines and told the Times that it would bury the rankings as a penalty.
J.C. Penney says it was not even aware of the illicit links.
"J. C. Penney did not authorize, and we were not involved with or aware of, the posting of the links that you sent to us, as it is against our natural search policies," Darcie Brossart, a J.C. Penny spokeswoman, told the New York Times. "We are working to have the links taken down."
When contacted by ABCNews.com, Brossart said that the Times article is "misleading and unwarranted."
"J.C. Penney was in no way involved in the posting of the links discussed in the article. We did not authorize them and we were not aware that they had been posted," she said in an e-mail. "To be clear, we do not tolerate violations of our policies regarding natural search, which reflect Google's guidelines."
Brossart said that once Penney learned of the "unauthorized" links, it immediately investigated how and by whom the links were posted and terminated the company's relationship with its "natural" search marketing firm.
"Obviously, we are disappointed that Google has reduced our rankings," she said. "Nonetheless, we will continue to work through the appropriate channels to regain our high natural search positions."
J.C. Penney is just the latest high-profile site to get slapped on the wrist by Google. Here are six other sites that have been banned or buried.

What to say, Its just a big slap for J. C. Penney

Are they the only on web do that?? There are millions. Time to watch what changes google bring to control all these.

It make me feel like "Disadvantage/blackside of becoming famous" :D

End of BH era MY ASS!!! If I blast my competitor sites with thousands of non-relevant backlinks it will just make it stronger and not penalize it, these kind of news are released to scary webmasters so they don't do black hat anymore which is not going to happen ;)

believe me google are smarter then you, and they will find a way to find out who is using blackhat techniques one day.....this catch means that they will start being more serious on find out how to do that, and u can see it in they last updated a few days ago, they did something (use the search to find out how many guys here got decreases on their serps)..
mine got up :)

dont worry dude, no sky will be falling in anytime soon, google isnt nearly as smart as some people think, when my 100% BH site drops off page 1, and ceases to climb the top 10, ill be worried, until then its just more boolshit propaganda from google spam team,
there is always a workaround, and there always will be,

Every now and then you see people screaming that its end of days :)

This will not work anymore and that google has such a smart spiders that they can detect this and that.

On ever google algorithm change some of us gets hit thats the nature of the game really.

And we need to simply adapt to the changes if necessary or we might be doing something that does not get us hit and continue to do what what we are doing.

On average I would say that people doing black hat seo are people having allot of domains running at the same time, and when being in this game its simply a numbers game. rinse and repeat on what does work, experiment to learn new things and changes that are coming or has come.
Adapt by looking on your own experiments and see what has worked and what has not.

One thing that is very very important is to always be experimenting as you never know when you might all for a sudden find something that works. Or when something that used to work will stop working and you will need to adapt.

I never go after what I read, I try my self everything that I think is worth trying.

There is so much misconception on the forums because someone had a negative experience or someone heard someone having it and passing it along as their own experience or something similar.

Best regards,
Kandor

dude, dis is Black Hat World: WE ALWAYS FIND A CHINK IN D DEFENSE!!!

No one cares about what Schmoogle has to say or what Matt Cunts thinks.... We still rule the Search Engines...

PEACE.

lolz are you matt cutts signed as different nick, the whole idea of this forum is to be smarter than google and stay ahead of them. If they find out one method we will come up 100 others and give them a kick in their asses.

Trust me, there are people here on BHW who have engineering degrees and way more smarter than those handful of engineers at google.

BHW members are not just dumb marketers of 90's, we have some very excellent programmers on this board and this collective community can rape any big company, be it google or facebook.

So dont waste your time here spreading nonsense. If you have something debatable, come here and discuss and we all will provide inputs.

OP, do you really believe they need to read the New York Times in order to know what happens in their 'realm'? It got out and from the 2 possible reactions they chose to go with the "we had no idea" instead of "we knew it all along but it was a mutual agreement".

If you don't monitor who ranks where and what % of the search strings lead to one entity you won't be needing massive data centers. And nobody in their right mind thinks these centers are just props.

You would think with the advertising buget JCPenny's would hire somebody with a little more brains , and be a little more careful.

Its not what you do , But the way that you do it

And if they did'nt notice the surge in their internet sales and checked it out, They are definitely more dumber than I thought.

We did'nt know, sounds like a kid caught with his hand in the cookie jar

What are you even doing here? Seriously, get a fucking grip. As long as search engines rank based on algorithms there will be ways to game the system. Blackhat evolves, and no matter how smart Google is, there edge is always on our side. Google reacts to our actions, we are always going to be the ones who are one step ahead. We will always be the offense, they will always play defense. That's just the way it is. If you're ready to pack it in because they managed to throw up a good defensive play, you just aren't cut out to survive in the first place.

so finally google proves it that its one big stupid search engine where a webmaster's site is not safe cz any tom dik n harry can come and do a spammy link blast to a site to get it penalised... hmmm really googy? u want us to buy it??

The above rules are actually the only thinghs that can get you banned by google, I have to add keyword stuffing to.
When you post links in any way keep away from gambling and porn sites and try to keep them relevant.
This is no way near news, this does not mean the end of Black hat era, its just geting harder!

I see people screaming about Google changes every other day. Nothing new there.

Hahh, this actually proves that blackhat will live long. Google had to find out from the New York Times that their serps are manipulated. LOLz.

There is always a thread on the net about G.s algo. fact is sites bounce around, no need to panic, if every member here using BH techniques lost their serps over night THEN panic.

Matt cutts said in an interview he has RSS from a BH forum LOL...I reckon here's here right now reading and planning...
