Hey everyone!
just wanna do this quick share, since 99% of my local clients are clueless about this DAU, WAU, MAU thing, when I tell them they usually say “god bless you”, like I just sneezed.
If you don’t want to get involved deeply into the topic here it is in short form, and why you need to look for this.
DAU: Daily active users
WAU: Weekly active users
MAU: Monthly active users
This is extremely important, because I do use exit popup on all my sites to grab emails for further newsletters, and I found out that sites without and exit popup, have -20% less DAU/MAU ratio.
You should almost always just look for this, because if it says for example 46% (0.46) then it means the average user uses your stuff 14 days of 30.
From this example you can make up all the ratios and why are they important.
So, don’t overlook these weirdly sounding factors, because it’s almost the best way to measure the success of your user keeping activity.
It shows well in GA, can’t tell about other 3rd party metrics because I don’t use them.
