This guide is much better than a good deal of how-to books for site-building. Some information I find especially helpful is the list of Wordpress plugins. I've heard plenty about installing them but very few specifics about which ones are recommended. A minor suggestion I want to add is that you might want to mention not to place trademarked names within a domain name. These are usually the names of companies or organizations, and a web master decides to create a site about something to do with the organization. If he/she does this without permission, the business/organization might order a cease-and-desist for using this domain name.
 
SEO is a process which makes a website get indexed, displayed and ranked better by search engines like Google. There is a whole host of methods to achieve this, all of it begins from the website and then from outside such as backlinks, article marketing.

In my research and previous experiences, I learned that Hostgator is far one of the best webhosting because of their great customer support. As for Domain Name Registrar, I choose Namecheap also because of their great support in linking your domain to your webhost.
