I'm new to promoting clickbank products as affiliate. My question is: is there any serious product in the cb marketplace?

I generally see too much hype, exaggerated promises and sometimes even evident scams.

You are asking the wrong question!

What you need to ask yourself is, what products can i promote and make good money with low refunds and that's it! If refund is low then its a 'serious' product.

Just start promoting. You got enough tips in this thread already to find a good product with a low refund rate (= good product). Now go out there and kill it!

EDIT: Just because a product may have a low refund rate, it doesn't mean it will sell well. Sems obvious but wanted to point that out anyway. :)

Well actually some people make good money with high refund products too.

If you make $5k sales a month and lose $1.5 to refunds, thats still a nice $3.5k a month profit irrespective of if its a 'serious' product.

There's too much wrong with a high refund product. I personally wouldn't touch it. Because it means that I recommend a crappy product. Which costs me my relationship with my list. So I do not agree with this.

So yeah, maybe there are people making good money with it just because it has a kickass salesprocess, etc. But I won't touch it.

You are right, if you are using email marketing then you need to make sure you are recommending good products to your list, otherwise if using organic traffic via blog sites then not important as no real relationship with visitors to your websites.

I guess a lot depends on your marketing strategy, too, yeah. I don't like a 1 time hit type of deal. I like to build lists and promote products to those lists.
