I'm going to try a few SEO packages that are offered here on BHW and for that purpose I want to register new domains. I do not want to use free web 2.0 platforms like e.g. tumblr or blogspot for this, as you don't have full control of your website and it can even get banned (this has happened to me - my blogspot blog was deleted and the reason was that it was used for SEO purposes). So because of this I'd rather prefer to register a new domain and I'm looking for the best deal. Several years ago there were cheap .info domains (it was just $1 or $4 for the first year if I remember it well). Are there any similar promotions now as well?

Isn't there any catch? - e.g. you need to buy hosting from them, too? And how much is the whois cover?

You could have checked the website in the time it took to ask this. $0.99 is for the first year. Check the site for whois price. Godaddy has $0.99 coupons for .com first year. Here is one for US and Canada: cjcrmn99u

I wanted to register my domain with 1and1, but they do not have my country (Slovakia) in their list. Their neither have Czech Republic.

And I do not want to register my domain with GoDaddy, as the whois cover is quite expensive with them (it was around $4 when I registered a domain with them some time ago). With 1and1 the whois cover is free.

Please be aware no matter what domain registrar gives you low price but when you are renewing prices will be high.

If you want to register multiple domains at cheaper price, sign up for reseller club's reseller plan, you will get domains at cheapest price.

Namecheap is cool. Godaddy have these cupons which works mostly for US citizens not for EU, at least I have only been lucky to get it 1 time.

Got plenty of cheap domain out there. Can use domain.com, register.com, godaddy, etc.

There are also namecheap, 1and1, and web.com. I use namecheap also and okay.

So far my experience with 1and1 was not good . They active account after more then 24 hours. Go daddy is with in minutes. 1and1 don't have permanent url forward 301. I don't like 1and1. And customer Support is very pathetic.

i've heard bad review about 1and1.You can always try out godaddy.There is lot of coupons available in domains forum here.You might wanna look that too.
