Hi Guys , just my 2 cents, the reason most white hat folks came here was to learn how to do blackhat stuff, its just too easy to turn around and say black hats will beat white hats easily , we all know that, what we really want to know is how to beat them, how does having a competition help anyone other than the winners, what we need is to be shown from a to z how to become expert black hatters, how and which programs to use and why, heck you could even have several sections in the forum from beginner to experts, so less of the we will win attitude and more of the how can l help you attitude.
But if you want to keep your secrets dont tell us how good you are show us the proff. nicho
 
I think this is a great idea. The black hats vs. the white hats. It would be cool putting the members in their own usergroups so only they can view messages. The key to making this useful is good documentation of everything that is done on both sides. This would have to be a long term experiment. Maybe updates every 30 days and have the competition run for 6 months or something.

I wish I could volunteer but I have tons of my own projects I haven't finished and continue to work on.

Black Hats I think are supreme because they know the white hat techniques also and generally more advanced and more into the latest technology.

We have to have a timeline for the challenge.

Results after 1 month, 3 months, 6 months and 12 months.

So we can update how the blackhat and the whitehat site is doing in that period. I would like to see after 12 months.................

So we can do it short and long term

I cant think of a better way to learn actually. No one wants to write an a -z manual, its time consuming plus if its out there in the public it quickly becomes obsolete. I think it would be amazing to be on a team with some of the seasoned vets, you are going to pick up things you never knew about. There are other things that I have been an expert on and I was in no hurry to teach everyone that asked everything I knew about everything, it created a ton of competition, plus it made me like everyone else, and lets face it, its nice to teach a couple people what you know and watch them grow, but not everyone. I think this would really showcase what people can do, and teach a select group of cool, motivated people some new and old tricks. I think even the losing team would be winners in the end, sorry if thats corny but I think its a great idea.

If anyone is allowed to participate - I am a PPC manager for a web agency, so I think I would be better suited for the whitehat team, I would obviously prefer to be on the black hat because that is what I am interested in, but far as providing value.. well..

I do think the blackhat team is going to clean the floor with the whitehat team, at least in the short term, its the tortoise and the hare.
 
Yep,

but don't forget every team will tell what steps they took,
so that will be a benifit for all.

It doesn't matter who wins, in the end everybody will get some new insights.

Probably should have a budget constraint too?
PPC and good backlinks can be effective but costly.

Or maybe a net profit type of competition?
Just like Trump's the Apprentice?
 
Net profit is more fair.
At the end off the day, that is the only thing that counts.

Maybe think about sharing the steps with those that participate? Or is that too stingy? I think that working for knowledge makes it that much more valuable to me when I get it. I find that I don't absorb as much when things are just handed to me. I hang on every word of the ebooks I have actually purchased but I skim an toss ebooks that I get for free.

Again along the line of the 'Apprentice' show,
having guru mods as 'advisors' and judges, but the competing teams are those who are
newer in the game and who actually do the work.

The gurus have too much resources in their hand and may twist the games
if they are actually doing it.
Also they won't lose too much face if their team lose if they're just advisors.

I disagree, if you want into the challenge you have to do the work.
No matter who you are.

There is no need for judgets.
The team that made the highest net profit is the winner.

Can't be any simpler.

Part 2 of the challenge is the race to see who puts out the first ebook with the two guaranteed google slaying affiliate payload assassin pay per click day job killing blah blah woof woof money making system for the low low price of $47 for the first 150 people. With contributions from 150 top internet marketers. Then the bullets will really start flying.

Come to think of it, if that could be done in an organized way, it could potentially blow the "gurus" and their never ending stream of crap out of the water. Well, until someone here posts it in the download section and everything comes full circle.

By gurus I am obviously talking about the old boys club ebook publishers, not the experts in this forum.
 
Yep, I agree with Michel, there is no need to over comlicate this.

The balance of the two teams is important, I wonder how will we make the teams to be balanced as much as possible.
 
i highly doubt that there will be something finalized out of this idea. A short termcompetition to see who is selling more might be fun, but organizing teams, long terms objective, just for the sake of seeing who is better.... hm... some people have better things to do. And i am pretty sure that every result can be tweaked by the gurus. I mean i have some aces up my slave that i use in my marketing techniques. But how will the noobs beneficiate if i tell them: i use this script and that script- if they do not have that scripts. Or if i tell them i have 1000 myspace accounts and i use them for marketing. But they do not have those, so they can not use it. Or if i say i invest 1000$ in ppc. They do not have money to invest and no chance to compete.
Anyway , will see, i guess i will pass that.
 
I think telling someone some of the ingredients to your success and letting them figure out how to get there is more help then most people get. There is a sea of information available but hearing about it from someone who isn't taking money from your hands at the same time adds quite a bit more credibility to it.
 
We can set a maximum amount to use and put that up as team.
We can also share the programs we need to get there or if a member has something that can't be shared he/she will be using that.

This can't be too hard.
So I'm up for it, should be fun........

I would also like to join.
I'm a newbie, so either side would be fine.

Maybe the winning team can get all the spoils, when the winner is announced.
We can even set up affiliates, and keep on selling after the competition.

After the competition, both sides might produce a manual of what they did, so that it can be shared amongst everybody, so that we all can learn both sides.

After this, we might also run a competition, for individuals, and base it on clickbank screen captures of our earnings. :D
Again ,the top three can release manuals of their work.
