OK people, there's some awesome talent in here and I'm thinking
it might be a good idea to kick of a sort of case study.

How about we pick a niche, do some research and then brainstorm
how the skills and resources within the forum could be used to set
up a site, build link popularity, increase page rank, boost SERPs and
make some cash.

The twist is that there would be two teams. One no holds barred
Blackhat team and one white as the driven snow Whitehat team. ;)

Lets say that each team has a core group of members and is supported
by a group of helpers so the noobs get a chance to participate.

To make it interesting, some folks might like to run a book and take bets
on which team will win :D

Maybe we could do the planning during the rest of December and kick off
the competition on 1/1/08

Thoughts? Suggestions? Ideas? Criticism?

It's Easy!

Hands down it would be the blackhat team don't you think?

If Myspace would not send me to jail I bet I could whoop almost anything that was thrown at me using the tactics that got me in trouble last year. Literally, I need to make one call to China and I would be up and running in less than 15 minutes.

This wouldn't even be a contest. Blackhat would massacre whites.

yeah ... don't know anyone who would even want to be on the white hat team, knowing they would get their asses beat like that

wow, blackhats... automatically, stomp the bones out of the whitehats, lol ... 1 call to russia! HA

Oh such arrogance!

Maybe we should give the White Hats a head start? ;)

It's Easy!

Like Ruck says, that's not even a competition. It would be a waste of time. Blackhats would win, plain and simple. That's not a joke or a challenge, it's just cold, hard facts.

Let's put it this way, how much of a chance do you think a kangaroo has in winning a fight against Chuck Norris?

Dam,

too late lol.
I'm a blackhat so I should be on the blackhat team, BUT
since noone will pickup to whitehat part I will go with that.

Some rules should be made with what a blackhat can do and what a whitehat can do.

Example: a whitehat can use Adwords and Adsense a blackhat can not
a blackhat can do cloaking a whitehat can't.
A whitehat gets the "normal" links, a blackhat can only get spam links
etc. etc. you get the idea.

So if anyone wants to join me in the whitehat challenge let me know!

Michel

PS I know blackhat will be better, but I always love a challenge. Also we can compare what we did, so everybody will learn from it.

Exactly!

It's about how you play the game that counts. We can all learn from each other.
Anyway, I like to support the underdogs, so I'm with the Whiteys! :)

Add me as a noob member to one of the teams!!! I love competition!!!

That's the spirit.
I think we will have our competition!

Great idea Easy! (want some credits for that? lol)
Can't wait to kick some blackhat ass! (hmm, euh, pfff........sure.......)

Michel

I've been doing things the white way so far,
but I'm not in US and had server setup in China too,
so that makes me a noob supporter on the black side? :)

Im in!
No matter black or white... LOL

First we should choose the team leaders. Two gurus!

interesting, I'm in too. This like a war of blackhat vs whitehat.

IDEA: I wonder if Dave or the Mods could set up two private forums?
One for each of the Whitehat/Blackhat teams and then those sneaky
Blackhats couldn't see what Michel and me are cooking up :D

LOL

and another great idea, totally agree!
Have some whitehat "tricks" up my sleave and I know you have too!

Michel

Blackhat against whitehat? Be serious guys. I tell you this: one good master of the dark arts is much better than a whole team of white hatters. So what are we going to promote? I guess many of you are aware of the Rucks "zero to hero" program this month. Let's make a competition who is able to sell most income4beginners books? Or let's all chose a product, one of ours preferably, that converts well and compete to see who is able to sell the most out of it, the blackhatters or the whitehatters. In this way, we are also making some cash.

Maybe it makes sense with some rules as Michel mentioned, or some handicap.

Anyway I like Nick's idea too.
Its all about money, adrenaline, and experience.
