And I would like to put Wax, Dan Bull and George Watsky up for the title as well.

Ok, their not the BEST alive, but there damn good.

1. what other rapper has gone through such a phenomenal change in style and still does. weezy still gets better and better as time passes. compare the carter 2 to carter 3, both some of the hottest albums in music history PERIOD (3 sold 1 million records the first week). there was a huge change in style but he was still killing it.

2. what other rapper has made so much loot rapping? i mean really rapping not being a businessman like puff or jayz. and eminem doesn't count because we all know his target demographic (angsty preppy teens) is much larger than any other rap audience and specifically caters to him.

3. do you guys even listen to some of his sickassssss flows? try we be steady mobbin or 100 feet. he's a true genius.
 
I was reading about tupac,and theres a statue of him in Herford,Germany wtf!??!?!? He brutally sexually assaulted a woman and he shot a cop in the ass.

I see what you're saying man, but selling the most records doesn't mean much. I can name 10 rappers off the top of my head who don't even sell half the number of albums lil wayne does, but could destroy him lyrically.

Plus, I'm pretty sure weezy doesn't even write his own stuff.

He certainly isn't horrible, but he isn't the best either.
 
Rap died when Tupac did, I find it offensive how you'd even consider Lil Wayne as a rapper. If Lil Waynes a rapper, I agree with the fact that music is like candy, you put the "rappers" in the trash. Tupac 4 lyfe.
 
Lil Wayne sells so much because the albums have alot of great marketing behind them.

What a typical "best rapper" thread.

Half of the people say Lil Waye or Eminem, and then try to back it up with record sales, as though that's ever been a valid metric for judging a musician's talent.

Anyway, the best rapper alive, in my opinion, is Apathy. Look him up if you haven't heard of him.
