We used to compete channel vs channel.
Now it feels more like video vs entire topic pool.
If there were 50 channels in your niche years ago, loyalty was easier.
Now there are thousands.
Test something.
Watch one video on a new topic.
Go back to homepage.
Then binge three from the same channel.
Go back again.
Do you see that channel dominate… or do you see a mix of similar creators?
That shift matters.
If the algorithm keeps viewers on the topic instead of reinforcing the channel, then here’s the uncomfortable question:
Why should someone come back to you specifically?
Not your niche.
You.
If your video disappears tomorrow, does your audience notice… or do they just watch the next similar one?
Look at your baseline views relative to subs.
Are you building return behavior… or constantly hunting fresh traffic?
Can someone describe your channel without mentioning the topic?
If not, you might be interchangeable.
Maybe the game isn’t just niching down anymore.
Maybe it’s being known for something inside the niche.
Curious how others here are seeing it.
Are you noticing less channel loyalty and more topic mixing?
