We run adult service ads in Japan. Originally, we used it basically for a month, but these days, there is a violation of the clocking policy, so it will be suspended within a day or two. Is the policy strengthened? Our clocking tool doesn't seem to have a problem
Even if there is a suspension, the fact that it appeared as a detour policy is also a violation of the business practice policy these days. Is the detour policy violation policy gone?

Good read. Cloaking (or what you’re calling ‘clocking’) might get short-term results, but the risk of bans or deindexing is real. Long-term success needs clean, white-hat tactics instead of shady shortcuts.

if there is unacceptable business policy and unethical business practices like cloaking, forget about that account, they've learned a lot from past one year.

Google’s ad policies can certainly be stricter and more sensitive, especially for adult services—it's likely they've increased scrutiny on clocking and related practices in Japan. The detour policy itself hasn't disappeared but is now often flagged under broader business practice violations as Google aims to enforce quality standards more comprehensively. I recommend thoroughly reviewing the latest Adult Services policies and experimenting with alternative ad formats or targeting approaches to minimize suspensions.

Yes, Japan’s advertising policies regarding cloaking and detours are definitely being enforced more stringently recently. It seems Google's detection methods have improved, even if your tool currently shows no issues, and the “detour” designation is now often tied to business practices rather than solely a detour policy violation. Consider refining your landing pages and user experience to better match ad messaging for greater compliance.
