As for a lot of people here I owe most of my income to BHW and a couple of other sources that where refered by BHW as well so this is my way of saying thanks to the comunity.
This is what I accumulated in 2 and some years of seo:
SEO PROGRAMS:
Since we live in an extensively automated era we rely a lot on automation to do our boring work but I also put this a the top of the list since seo programs are a major part of our investment when we start seo at any level.
Scrapebox: by far the best seo tool even if blog comments are not what they use to be. The hudge array of addons this program has gives it so many uses I cant even start to explain. If you are doing seo on daily basis you really need this one to hurry up a lot of your work.
I use trackbacks with as unique as posible experpts for the main site (inner pages) and normal comments and trackbacks as tier 2-3 links. For the main site I dont exceed 1000 comments/page but for tier 2/3 I use almost all I have. I use 20-25 semidedicated proxies 50 connections, 90sec timeout.
Senuke X- At first I hated this tool for the simple fact the wizzard sucks but once I droped the wizzard I was impressed by what It can do, constant updates keep the speed and succes ratio high with this program. I use it mainly for web 2.0 and artcle submitions. I have to say that I tried a lot of other programs that say they can post to web 2.0 but this is the best.
A cheaper alternative is Magic submitter- If you get this one please learn to use the wizzard that lets you add new websites, its golden, very easy to use and reliable. I used it to increase my success ratio.
AMR- I dont use it anymore since I dont find it that usefull (it still works but 30-40 web 2.os work better)
for article submition I use just the directories senuke x has.
Xrumer- I dont use it for forum profiles but for forum posts- I try to use 5000 word aticles with double spintax, links to high relevancy pages and my site and a lot of titles. Higly spun and readable.
Again using this ones directly to the site or tier 2. The secret here is content uniqueness. If you want to take it even further you can add pictures.
If you like forum profiles go for high pr ones and try to keep the numbers small. Big numbers more then 2000/day COULD affect rankings.
Bookmarking demon- best option for bookmarking- get as many social bookmarking sites as posible and put them in the program. Use PR 2+ sites directly to the site and use all of them as tier 2.
Video submitions- I only use youtube since from my experience the other sites hold close to no value
Press releases- I outsourced this one since I couldnt find a good program that can do this.
BEST types of LINKS in my opinion:
Considering price, how hard it is to get them and power the best ones are web 2.0`s with propper tier 2 links behind them. What I love about them is the fact they can take massive amounts of incoming links.
Best to use are 100% unique content articles 3 per site/niche with videos and pictures. This with the tier 2 and 3 links hold the highest power of all the links I have ever built. This pages actually rank in first 3 pages for the main keywords most of the times but it all depends on keyword ussage.
I build video with animoto and post them on youtube for every article. Pictures are from the site I work on.
Then comes any type of blog/site posts with links in the content (exception-article directories). The higher the uniqueness of the content the better. I am not saying that 70%+ uniqueness is a must but I did notice an increase in indexing and power of those links when I used a lot of unique content. Google wont ban/penalize you for links with bad content, it will just ignore it.
Social bookmarking, forum links and comment links I already talked about.
Press releases- I use them at least once for every major keyword- I order a press release and submit it to free press release sites. If the keyword is really high I submit it to payed ones as well.
.edu/.gov links are good but I only use them for link diversity, I dont rely on them.
There are other types of links that use diffrent platforms- My advice on them is do them but dont over do it, use them as an alternative source of links after you built the main ones.
I almost forghot about paid home page backlinks: they are really usefull on the long term (they take longer to work) but are quite expensive, only use them if your keyword will bring you a lot of money.
SOCIAL MARKETING
Important members did raise awareness on this subject but I see that seo providers here still ignore facebook and twitter when it comes to real seo.
Create your G+, Facebook and twitter accounts, put the buttons on your site and do what ever you can to post a lot of your llinks there and get friends/followers/likes/+ses/stumbles, anything because this is getting bigger and bigger by the day. I consider google to be very smart to put this markers as important ones since more and more people share links using this platforms.
On page seo is still important- I wont get into this because there is a lot of info on this but please dont ignore it! I noticed people tend to ingnore this one since seo providers mostly sell links insted of complete packages.
A lot of people that have ecommerce sites dont build a google base, people with real stores dont create a google maps and a lot of people are not using everything that the main search engines have to offer.
Also I would like to remind you guys that it might be better to use long tail keywords instead of hard main keywords that have a lot of google ads. Ranking first for a big keyword might not bring you much traffic because in reality you are only ranking 5th for that keyword since the first 4 are google ads that will get most of the traffic.
Be very carefull what keyword you want to rank and think twice on what people are looking for when typing that keyword.
I am shure I left out a lot of aspects but please fell free to add any info you would like
