Guys/gals. Here's a pro-tip. Don't give any of these "Giveaway Monkey's" thanks and/or Rep until they have fulfilled what they say they are giving.

I would say 90% of the giveaway threads are people who back out or don't follow through.

For those of you posting giveaway threads, stop being douchebags and saying "don't forget to thank and rep me" in every one of your posts then not delivering.

If you can't do shit, don't do a giveaway. It's that simple.

Just a note that the people doing genuine give aways are appreciated and this is aimed at the noobs that are just trying to build rep. This place is built on people helping each other out so don't stop doing give aways!
 
i always only give rep upon receipt! a few times lately i've noticed some people not following through if i haven't gave rep

Well, you can remove your thanks. And if someone is doing something bad, he can be negative repped.

And this thread should be in the lounge I think. I appreciate OP's motivation though which is probably coming from anger.
 
You should rather give a thanks to anyone who's willing to give back to the community.
I give them thanks even though I almost never ask for what what they're giving away... being thankful doesn't hurt.

If you're so sick of those, why don't you try to give something back to the community yourself? Just sayin'.
 
Point proven. The dude giving away the 10K twitter followers begging for thanks and rep, attached adFly to a link, got like 50 thanks, and got banned. Still though raped some adfly coin, all of a buck maybe.

And BK071, I do give back if you'd look for yourself. I actually have a higher thanked per post ratio than yourself, but I appreciate the recommendation.
 
Look, if someone is asking for thanks and reps, he/she is obviously just trying to build up thanks and reps and not caring much about the community. If someones did care, he/she wouldn't have asked for thanks and reps.

It looks shameless enough when you look at someone asking for thanks and reps.
 
I usually thank such posts and will only rep after I receive the service (which I rarely ask for)

Once, someone ask me to give them itrader for the service they provided for free. I had to decline because I felt that was totally inappropriate.

So you think this guy should be thanked by only 5 people who get their free bots made? I thanked him because he's taking his time to give back.. no matter if its 5 members or 10... or 1.
But oh well, to each his own.

And BTW, who cares about the ratio... hell, who even cares about thanks and reps? Its just the will to help that matters...

PS: How the heck is this a "pro tip"? LOL!

I understand... asking for thanks and reps is pretty lame. But not being thankful is just as lame as asking for thanks.

I didn't say the person giving back should ask for thanks...
 
Nice point, actually was thinking about that. I had given a thanks to a couple of posters but haven't received anything what they promised to. Actually at that point I thought I have to thank in advance but seems that is not right.
 
as childish as the topic sounds i agree with the op . I started noticing alot of these " giveaways" are really just farming for rep's and thanks I like bk071 do give thanks and rep for giving back to the community but i have started noticing the trend of people not fulfilling what they are giving away aka a member who was suppose to have a backlink giveaway turn out to just wanted to be farming his stats to start a jv. So there are some truthful individual who do have real giveaways and other individuals who are trying to build up a quick rep for different purpose's then giving back to the community. You just have to be careful
 
the OP's got a point. just saw a thread giving away pinterest accounts. i'd say raping is not a bad word for it.

btw, i never understood why people "crave" for thanks? can you sell the rep points for cash? i know it's not edible..

The original Newbie OP of the "premature repulation" post doesn't get any thanks, not even from you, but you did get thanks just for repeating his smart statement ... Funny how this thanks system seems to work ...
 
thanks for pointing that out, op...so irritating when people are so desparate for likes/rep that they try to game the community...
