Hello guys ive seen bunch of analysis telling that picture tweets provide more engagement, however from my experience text tweets provide more engagement by alot. On text usually 15+ retweets/favorites while on picture 3-5 retweets/favorites. Whats the situation on your accounts guys?

It partly depends on the niche but also on the content. You need Images to keep users interested, they might not retweet the images but it sure helps keep your from unfollowing as fast.

In my personal experience, tweets with pictures get significantly more engagement. I'd be interested to know in what niche this doesn't apply for.

Pictures will always give you better retweets than text. Depends on which picture you're using too though.

Picture tweets can provide more engagement at Twitter. Make sure to add hastags to each tweet.

Well I run and also have access to huge accounts totalling well over 15 million followers now and have been in the Twitter game for some time.

Text posts do better than images sometimes, it depends on what the text is. Some text motivational quotes get thousands of Retweets if it's relatable.

Some people tweet images, but just browsing on your timeline, you can't see the main part of the image because of the size of the image, this results in less people retweeting because they can't be bothered to click the tweet to see the full image.

So, a suggestion is to check how the image looks in your tweet.

Yes, agree you. The important point is the Size and Position of image. :)

My tweets with images usually will average around 24% engagement and just text is usually only about 2%.

Interesting to read the replies here, I dont get a whole lot of engagement at all on my txt tweets. I use hootsuit to auto post my tweets for me, which means all my tweets are txt. Maybe its time to dump hootsuit and manually add tweets with pics.

I own an entertainment website and pictures with tweets ALWAYS work best! :)

Depends heavily on your niche and the kind of pics that you post. I'll guarantee that a sweet and short text tweet accompanied by a nice/high res and related picture will get you more engagement than just the text post.

My niche is "Facts" btw. I dont understand why i have higher engagement with text tweets. Also when i post picture whole text is seen from timeline so its not that issue with people bothering to click on it.
