Surprisingly, some of my best-performing posts have been plain text.
No images, no videos.
Are visuals overrated on LinkedIn right now?

On LinkedIn authenticity and value seem to be winning more attention lately. Text only posts often feel more genuine and easier to connect with. If the hook is strong and the message is relatable visuals become optional.

LinkedIn tends to reward content that keeps users reading and engaging.
A compelling story, insight, or controversial opinion can outperform polished graphics.
Visuals help, but strong writing usually matters more.

text will likely always be a grabber depending on context

I find it interesting that text-only posts are doing well, maybe people are craving a break from visual overload and want more substance. It could also mean the algorithm is favoring text-based content to boost engagement

Text-based posts is arguably a strong point for Linkedin - it is hard to compete with other social platforms when it comes to multimedia content - so boosting text posts makes sense from that point of view.

I think strong content matters more now. If the message is valuable, plain text can outperform visuals easily.

text posts still work better for reach if the hook is strong
visuals help but only if they add meaning not just decoration
most people overuse images and it kills engagement sometimes
