Tests to give Web Developers before hiring them

I am looking to interview some local developers for a Web Application that needs skill and talent. I want to hire the best. I here some companies use Hackathons and tests they use to test these coders.

Anyone with samples to send me so I can get the best?

There is ton of info about hiring, tables, questions, funnels etc etc but what i see right now trending, is company gives small project to accomplish, f.e. last time i did was to replicate amzn file storage microservice for extra large files.

I like to give my programmers a debugging task, something with logical error and well hidden syntax error. And secondly to see how they think and compartmentalize problem/ solutions; ask them to draft an entire software dev life cycle for a huge platform.

Automated tests are one of the simplest ways to screen a developer.The test is the most useful portion of the hiring process so laying more emphasis on the test portion will provide greater results!

i don't think anyone would work for me if they knew i can't write a correct sentence.
