50K links build today again:

Site 1 - Wikipedia Page - position 4 (starting position = 4)
Site 2 - Government Site - 115 (starting position = 36)
Site 3 - Small Private Site - 24 (starting position = 42)
 
the fact that the Gov page tanked and has remained tanks, is just freakin DUMB. DUMB by G. what a head scratcher at the way they do business..
 
Keep it up. This is all very interesting. Are you planning on continuing to do links, or are you going to let the sites "rest" ever and see if that impacts anything?
 
Just to confirm your anchors; your using just names in both the name and comment fields? great test by the way, always entertaining as well as useful intel... ;)
 
How about a screenshot from ahrefs of all 3 sites? Should take less than 2 minutes.
 
This is amazing haha that Wikipedia page just doesn't care. It eats your spam for breakfast. This is a really great study but I think the real test would be to try this kind of extreme SB link building on a new domain. It's tough to know how many and what kind of backlinks these domains had before you started.

i've been blasting one of my sites for about a week now with 5k/day.. so far it's on 15th page and not moving much
 
Thank you for running this test, there will certainly be something to learn here (I just hope the big G is not monitoring this thread and playing dirty)

90K links build today again:

Site 1 - Wikipedia Page - position 4 (starting position = 4)
Site 2 - Government Site - Not in top500 (starting position = 36)
Site 3 - Private Site - 32 (starting position = 42)
 
Well.. after about 2 weeks of heavy blasting.. it seems you blasted the gov site into oblivion. I'm not really surprised about the wikipedia page.

What i have to say is surprising IMO is the 3rd site.. Google has taken into account the links, since its been dancing, but yet no siginificant improvement, and no sandbox. Really puzzled by Google...
 
This is really not the type of results I would be expecting from something like this. The government sinks and the people stand tall? Of course, Wikipedia is honey badger and walks it off.

I'm really interested in seeing the outcome of this. I suspect the personal site will eventually tank if the link velocity drops off, or possibly before, but now I'm rooting for it.
 
Are we sure no one else is building really high quality links to the wiki page? I mean you don't have control over who links to websites, and wiki, as it has been, gets lots of links from good websites.
 
The number of referring domains for wikipedia hasn't changed that much compared to the changes of the other 2 sites. Still, it is perfectly immobile and seems immune to negative SEO.
 
Thanks for the update Extra Winner, very interesting case study. Some poor saps are getting their sites sacrificed with links. lol. Free Promotion :D, I have a feeling the consistent blasting is going to have them dance around and once more links index and stick , they will begin to plateau out at the top depending on the link diversity. Just my guess based on the data you've already gathered. +Rep
