Testing nulled themes

Is there any risk of getting infected while testing nulled themes locally? I kinda find funny to look for hack codes and try to clean everything. Also if you have any trick for this task (manual not plugings) would be interesting learn it.

Ps. I always run all files through VT.

Not that big of an expert on this nulled theme virus business, but I would edit and test inside a virtual machine to stay safe. So in case anything bad happens..it's all contained inside the VM which can be disposed of easily.

A good trick I found was paying the $40 for a theme.

Using a nulled theme isn't a good idea. You might miss something that leaves your site vulnerable.
