Testing a simple SEO approach on a small site (no tools, no budget)

I’ve been testing a very simple SEO approach on a small site over the past few weeks.
Nothing fancy, no paid tools, mostly manual work.

The goal wasn’t fast ranking, but stability.
So instead of publishing many pages, I focused on fewer articles with very clear intent.

One thing I noticed early was how internal structure affected crawl behavior.
After cleaning up unnecessary pages and linking content more logically, indexation improved.

For backlinks, I didn’t chase volume.
I tested a few contextual placements from relevant sites and stopped there.
The site didn’t jump fast, but rankings were more stable compared to previous tests.

Still early, but it confirmed something I’ve seen before:
Basics work slower, but they reduce volatility.

I’ll probably update this thread after a few more weeks if anything interesting changes.
