So I've heard about people doing this. Happened to my friend actually. They advertise about selling TB and quoted him on a deal for his TB. He payed via paypal. After paying he received an email saying that he needed to pay more. He wondered why and refused. The website then sent him this email:

The money we have received from you will go to promoting academic integrity. We are in the process of shutting down all of these illegal businesses. This is a warning. Do not use these services. We will shut down all of these illegal businesses and hold them accountable for their actions.
We do not sell IM or TB. We only provide consulting to our customers that they should not be using TB or IM because it is against academic integrity and it is cheating. The amount was received for consulting service. Please, be advised that you should not be buying IM or TB. This is a warning.
Promoting a fair academic environment,

Wondering if you can get away with that because if you report to paypal they won't do anything since online products sent via email aren't really buyer protected.

First off, you should not have paid without requesting a sample for what you're buying. Also, you can argue with PayPal that you thought you're buying a study guide, which is 100% legal.

I can discern Scam smell from the language in the message you got after you paid the amount.
 
Ya you def need to be careful what buying these type of services. And I agree with love seeker, you def need to get a sample of a product before buying alot of it. Most wholesalers or ever drop shippers that are truly in it to do business will love to do this, because they know there one step away from doing real business with you! A sample of something would be nothing for them. So be careful from anyone who says they can't!

Yea your right any legit seller will give you two or three chapters of your choice as a sample. Just don't believe them because they show you chapter one, those are everywhere. Don't want to break a rule but they have forum that has trusted sellers of them. The same eight sellers that are trusted have been there for years, even yours truly :cool:. To the OP if your friend stills needs that testbank he got scamed on I will give it to you for nothing.

As someone who deals in these materials, you're on the right track, but I would like to add to your statement.

A sample of your choice is a MUST, but "two or three chapters" is excessive. I provide half of a chapter or full chapter in some cases depending on how many chapters there are and how difficult they are to convert from raw data something more visually appropriate. Some classes are up to 40 chapters and include Powerpoints and Instructor's Manuals! That's a LOT of material.
 
I've purchased Test Banks from several websites but never used this site in particular, it's always a risk.
