Test Marketing

I have launched several internet products/services, (Ideas), for which some have worked out well, and some have been complete duds. I think it is safe to say that not having a home run idea every time is part of the process.

With that said, I'm presently working on an idea that I think has potential. I believe in the idea so much that I have set up a WordPress landing page to test the idea, (I have not put to much $$, or time into the site yet). Before, I start to spend money and time on this idea I would like to know if it has some real potential. Thus, I want to test market the idea. Like I pointed out, I already have a domain name and landing page ready to go but I'm stuck on what would be the best place/medium to use to get real good data.

Here are the testing places I have used in the past:
1) Google/Bing PPC (This has worked fairly well, but this can be expensive and it does not always give me a true demand pitcher)
2) Social Media such as Facebook. I have used FB in the past with limited results. I do not think I have used it correctly. If someone has an idea please let me know
3) Craig's List. Great place to gauge an idea, but CL seems to be very focused on keeping this service to a local advertising medium only.

Those have been the main three. I have also thought about forums to gauge interest, but I'm a little lost on how to go about that process as well.

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
