This is really messed up I just read an article telling how terrorists are using Google Earth to help blow up shit!
Terrorists in Basra who are attacking British bases are using the high resolution images from Google (News - Alert) Earth to accurately pinpoint their attacks. This was revealed when a raid was conducted on the homes of insurgents last week. Printouts of photographs taken from Google Earth were seized and these photographs provide detailed information about the bases inside the buildings. The documents seized also point out the vulnerable areas such as lavatory blocks and tented accommodations and the exact longitude and latitude of the British camp.Intelligence officers in the British camp are convinced that these images were for the purpose of terrorist attacks. In the past six months, one soldier was killed by a mortar attack and several others were injured. Since the seizure of these documents, intelligence officers have been keeping a close watch on the landing of the rounds to see if the attacks were aided by Google Earth's images.
Google Earth provides images of different parts of the world. Anyone can sign up for Google Earth and view almost any location on Earth, simply by typing the name of the location. These locations can be viewed with amazing clarity and even the minute details are not missed. Google provides these images to the surfers by buying aerial imagery taken from aircrafts and satellites.
